Relaxing end to the week
Tonight Garrett and I had a nice relaxing evening to end off our busy week. It started with some taco's for dinner - yum yum! This was followed up by delicious ice cream sundaes. Garrett chowed down while I daintily enjoyed my delicacy. After dessert, we worked off the calories with a walk around the neighbourhood. We checked out the construction site for the new LRT (light rail transit) station just west of my house. This is analogous to the SkyTrain in Vancouver, but a little more archaic and not elevated above ground. It's great that they are extending the route of the LRT though, and I totally support the work. We examined the huge dirt piles and huge dirt holes, however we were unable to determine whether they have done anything so far except move dirt around and knock down some houses in the path of the track. We also saw the demolition site of a building on campus that is half torn down - another casualty of the LRT extension, but pretty neat to see. It's crazy to see the concrete and rebar just torn to pieces.
The other great part about our walk was how light out it was! It was 10pm and this is how light out it was:One of the great things about living farther north is all the daylight hours we get in the spring/summer.
This one looks a bit darker, but shows you how nice and green Edmonton is right now, due to the hot weather alternating with lots of rain. With all the rain the past few days, it's been feeling like Vancouver!I know, I look at bit funny in that one, but it's because I was in mid-step. In any case, it's supposed to rain a lot more this weekend, but that just means the plants will grow that much more! It's great!

Aha - no fooling me, girlie! I know that there is nothing dainty about you devouring ice cream, particularly if there's chocolate in there somewhere!
I hope you had a fun weekend and that the Oilers win tonight - am keeping my fingers crossed for them, from my football-obsessed corner of the world.
Love you!
