Topping off the week
This morning, as I arrived at school my keys fell out of my pocket. I didn't notice this at the time, but apparently they did because I didn't have them to unlock lab once upstairs. I immediately realized I had heard them moving when I got off my bike and surmised this was where they had departed my body. I headed back to the bike rack to get my keys, however the keys were nowhere to be found. With the help of my labmate Karl, we searched the area thoroughly but to no avail. I went back upstairs and printed off some posters: "LOST. Keys lost between bike rack and door. Please call Kim at (phone number)". I posted these around the accident site and then walked over to the hospital, which is adjacent to my building, and checked the lost and found there. No luck.
Feeling fairly dejected, I went back to my lab to await a phone call from the key-finder. When I arrived, I noticed a sign on our bulletin board: "Keys found. Call Deb in the main office". HOORAY!! My keys were found! I picked them up immediately and deposited them safely into my purse. Apparently some strangers (not from my department) found them, picked them up and dropped them off at my departmental office. How they knew to bring it to the right department, I'll never know. I guess it was just lucky? I have never lost my keys before so I was fairly disconcerted when it happened, especially this week! They always say, bad things come in threes: 1. Mustache bandaid. 2. Stuck in an elevator. 3. Lost keys.
Now that I've gotten all these mishaps out of the way, I can focus on the weekend and everything working out perfectly. Can't I? We are heading down to Calgary for the Stampede, so I won't have any posts until after the weekend. Have a good one, all!
