Beware, wild Pumpkin!

Today, Pumpkin and I were outside tending to my flowers when another kitty (very similar in appearance to the Pump-meister) walked by in the adjacent yard. Pumpkin noticed this other kitty at approximately the same as me, but responded light-years faster as she took off after the cat like a bat outta hell. The other cat, not surprisingly, started running away.

I followed at a leisurely pace - I was not too worried about my cat since she was the instigator. As I neared the alley, I saw both cats facing off, poofed up and intense-looking. I quickly broke up the confrontation and called an unpleased Pumpkin cat back to our yard. She wasn't very pleased with me for chasing the other cat away just when she was showing the other cat who the boss was.

This summer is the first time that I've let Pumpkin out in the yard by herself. If I ever worried about her well-being while I wasn't outside with her, my fears are unsubstantiated. Apparently, Pumpkin is the bully and the other cats in the neighborhood are the ones that should watch out!
