Frozen Face

I went to the dentist this morning and had a couple little fillings put in. For some reason, however, the dentist felt it necessary to freeze nearly half my face. Now, I appreciate that I did not feel any pain while he did his work (aside from the general discomfort of having someone keep your mouth open for abnormally long times, having to listen to the drilling sound and having your own spit and water sprayed all over your face), but I feel he was overly exuberant with his dispensation of lidocaine. I was at the dentist before school and when I got to the lab, I couldn't really talk nor smile normally. Even my 'relaxed face' looked slightly wrong. I was frozen on the right side, from the back of my cheek almost to my ear, to the midpoint of my chin, on up to my NOSE!! That's right, my nose was frozen on one side. That's one of the weirder sensations I've felt, I can tell you that! I couldn't feel the air going in my right nostril when I sniffed! I'm pretty sure it wasn't because I couldn't sniff, but simply that I could not feel the air flow.

Not only was the freezing widespread, it took a long time to go away. By lunchtime, I was still partially frozen in my cheek and mouth. Keep in mind I was frozen at around 8:15am this morning! As the day wore on and the lidocaine wore off, I started to feel a little bit ill...ick! Too much lidocaine in my system! I am glad to get to bed and start tomorrow, unfrozen.
