Mild obsession with wind

When I was in California visiting Amanda and Ray, we did some driving around. During our touring, we saw many, many wind farms, with huge wind turbines across the fields. It amazed me - not only the size of the suckers, but the sheer number of them spaced evenly across the landscape!It was difficult to get good pictures from the moving car, and as well to show how many there were to be seen in the distance (it was a little hazy).These are the best pictures I took, although I have a number more that are worse attempts. I think overall I took about 30 pictures of wind farms.There seemed to be a number of different sizes of wind turbines. There were really big ones, like the white ones in the top two pictures, and smaller ones of the same variety, which I don't have a picture of.There were also medium ones (above) that had different colouring than the white ones.California gets an A+ for trying alternative energy forms. Now if only we could do something about their traffic jams...
