Moustache Weekend 2006

This weekend was Moustache Weekend 2006. The brain-child of my friend Trevor, the purpose is to grow the largest, most creatively styled moustache with 3 weeks notice. In addition, this year we added a 'big-hair' component so that the girls can be involved in the event, seeing as most of us gals are not comfortable letting our moustaches grow. Thus, Saturday night we bbq'ed and hit the bar with our big hair and moustaches proudly displayed. In addition, Trevor also had t-shirts made up that we sported for the evening, once it cooled off a little (it was 35 degrees on Saturday).Garrett's moustache is actually straight blond, so we filled it in with some brown eye shadow, which worked quite well. See BEFORE:and AFTER:That's Doug on the right, sporting his own creepy moustache as well.
Erik didn't have a moustache ready for the event, so we drew one on him. You can see above in the second picture, as well, that Mike (middle) has his moustache drawn on as well. Ya sharpie marker! And in case you doubt that my hair was actually big, I leave you with the following pictures of hot rollers (in 35 degree weather nontheless!) and curls galore! And lastly, I have to throw in the picture of Garrett and I as a moustached/big haired couple.

Sweet hair and 'staches! It looks like you guys had a great time - and I'm totally impressed with the shirts and big hair. Curlers in that heat! You're crazy!

And just wondering...how many days did it take for the sharpie pen mustaches to disappear, and did people ask you what the heck you were doing when you went out on the town all duded up?

The sharpie moustaches actually washed off (for the most part) by the end of the night. We went out to a bar and it was super hot and crowded in there - we were all pretty sweaty and I think they boys just sweated them off. The next day, Erik (tall Swedish guy) had a trace of darkness around his mouth, but that was it.

We had a number of people ask us what the shirts were about. We were asked if we were on a stag or stagette and several people wanted to know if they could get a shirt!
